FERGUS FALLS -- The Willmar girls hockey team closed the regular season with a 6-3 Central Lakes Conference loss to Fergus Falls Thursday.
The Cardinals (2-8-2, 11-11-2) are winless in their last four games heading into the postseason. Willmar will host the winner of the Mankato East-St. Peter match on Feb. 13.
Fergus Falls (7-5, 12-11-1) scored four goals in the first 12:19 of the first period.
"We beat them really early in the season (3-2 on Dec. 3), but they are very much improved," said Willmar coach Lee Wierschem.
KyLee Hulscher put the Cardinals on the scoreboard with 35 seconds left, but the Otters added two more goals in the second period.

Kayte Cole and Jennie Mattison also scored for Willmar.
