LITCHFIELD -- Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato stayed close, but not close enough, with the No. 12 team in Class A girls hockey Thursday, losing to Wright County Conference rival Orono, 3-0.
After a scoreless first period, the Tigers netted two even-strength goals about three minutes apart for a 2-0 lead. Orono added a quick goal at the start of the third for the final result.
LDC goalie Danielle Elam recorded 40 saves. The Dragons had 23 shots on goal.
