WILLMAR -- Willmar lost out during a flurry of first-period scoring, losing to Sartell/Sauk Rapids 7-1 in a Central Lakes Conference girls hockey game Tuesday.
All four goals in the first period were scored in the first 4:36. Unfortunately for the Cardinals (0-2-1, 1-4-1) three of them were by the opposition.
Kendra Rasmussen scored the first goal at 2:43, followed by Caitlin Halupczok 16 seconds later.
Kayte Cole scored Willmar's goal at 4:26 on an assist from Kendra Maxfield, but Sar-tell/Sauk Rapids re-sponded in 10 seconds on another Rasmussen goal.
The Cardinals had a total of 16 shots on goal in the last 34 minutes.

Rasmussen and Hal-upczok had two goals and two assists each.
Baylie Young had 32 saves in the Willmar goal.
