WORTHINGTON - After a tough loss in its opener, Willmar played a consistent game and defeated Worthington 3-0 in a non-conference match Saturday.
Hannah Bollig, Jenna Stauffenecker and Brooklyn Lindblad scored goals, Hannah Johnson assisted on two of them and Ingrid Figenskau also had an assist as the Cardinals atoned for a 4-0 loss to St. Cloud Cathedral to open the 2015 season on Thursday.
The Cardinals open Central Lakes Conference action at Fergus Falls at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Bollig scored on a Johnson assist in the 28th minyute and the Cardinals led 1-0 at the break.
Stauffenecker scored, again on a Johnson assist, about 19 minutes into the second half.

Figenskau fed Lindblad for a goal in the 74th minute.
The Cardinals’ defense was sound, allowing Worthington just three shots on goalie Laura Christianson.
