WILLMAR - Fergus Falls scored two goals in each of two five-minute overtime periods to defeat Willmar 4-2 on Tuesday at the Kennedy School field.
The loss dropped the Cards to 0-2 in the Central Lakes Conference and 2-3 overall. They play host to St. Cloud Tech at 5 p.m. Thursday at Kennedy.
The Cardinals fell behind 2-0 in the first half when the Otters’ Hannah Baker and Brittany Coleman scored in the first 34 minutes of the match.
But Willmar’s Hannah Bollig scored four minutes later to cut the margin to one at half. Hannah Johnson scored in the 71st minute to tie the match in regulation.
The Otters’ Paige Kaseman scored the game-winning goal three minutes into the first overtime and the Otters added a second goal in the second overtime.
