NEW ULM -- Willmar lost 1-0 to Section 2A rival New Ulm on Saturday at Mueller Field on a long kick.
Brooklyn Hulke cuffed a looping kick from 45 yards that appeared to be a centering pass, but it zeroed in just under the cross bar and over the hands of Willmar goalie Jenna Martins.
The Cardinals had a goal by Ali Sing called back for off sides in the first three minutes.
Willmar (4-2-1), which is in the midst of playing four road games in eight days, is at Alexandria on Tuesday.
New Ulm (3-4-1) showed 12-9 edge in shots on net.
