SAUK RAPIDS -- Willmar outshot Sauk Rapids, but the Storm scored with extra time on the clock to clip the Cardinals 3-2 Thursday in a Central Lakes Conference girls soccer match.
Chloe Donoho tied the match at 1-1 for Willmar just before halftime. The Cardinals then took over the lead when Halie Larson netted a goal 12 minutes into the second half.
Sauk Rapids then scored 2½ minutes later and got the game winner just before four minutes of extra time expired.
"We had some good opportunities, but the ball just didn't bounce our way," said Willmar coach Jeff Winter.
The Cardinals had four shots off clank off the post and two other shots bounce off the crossbar.
