ST. CLOUD -- The Willmar girls soccer team got off to a good start, but didn't carry that through the rest of the game as the Cardinals fell to St. Cloud Tech 4-1 in Central Lakes Conference action Thursday.
Bailey Young scored on an assist from Chloe Donohoe 6:32 into the match for Willmar (1-6-1, 4-7-1).
"This is a game that the girls always get fired up for. We dominated the first 18 minutes," said Willmar coach Jeff Winter.
But the Tigers (3-3-1, 5-7-1) tapped in their first goal off a Jordan Martins save at 18:23 and then added another at 32:21 for a 2-1 lead.
The Cardinals were blanked in the second half.
