SAUK RAPIDS - The Willmar girls soccer team surrendered two goals in the first 10 minutes of the match and couldn’t muster a comeback in a Central Lakes Conference match in Sauk Rapids on Thursday.
Emma Kruger and Taryn Anderson scored first-half goals for the Sabres and Ally Hallonquist put home a shot in the 69th minute in the second half to cap the scoring.
Willmar goalie Laura Christenson made 10 saves.
“We started out slow first half,” said Willmar head coach Chelsea Brown. “We did better in second half. We’ve just have to get better at a few things and get ready for our next match.”
Willmar plays host to St. Cloud Apollo at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Kennedy Field.
