Girls Soccer: Tough defense not enough in Cards’ loss to Becker

BECKER - Willmar played tough defense to hang in its match with Becker on Monday.
The Cardinals were outshot 16-3 in a 2-0 loss to the Bulldogs.
Becker’s Lauren Sticha scored a goal in the 12th minute, and the Bulldogs’ Madeline Corey notched the second in the 62nd minute.
Willmar goalie Laura Christianson made 13 saves.
Riley Schneider also made a defensive save for the Cardinals
The Cardinals are 2-9-1 overall. They play host to St. Cloud Apollo at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Kennedy School field.
