Girls Soccer: Willmar falls to Brainerd, 4-1

WILLMAR -- Brainerd erupted for four goals in the second half after being shut out in the first half by Willmar to remain on top of the Central Lakes Conference standings as the Warriors collected a 4-1 win Tuesday in girls soccer.

Brainerd outshot Willmar 26-10 en route to improving to 6-0 in the CLC.

"They packed the middle with the their defense," said Willmar coach Jeff Winter on being limited to just 10 shots. "The girls knew that they had areas to improve on in the second half, but we had breakdowns on defense and they capitalized every time we broke down."

Willmar, which plays Thursday evening at Husky Stadium against St. Cloud Tech, got its lone goal from Chloe Donoho on a penalty kick 25 minutes into the second half.
