BENSON - Benson adjusted its lineup and the move paid off as the Braves won two singles and two doubles matches to defeat Montevideo 4-3 on Tuesday at the Benson High School courts.
The win gave Benson sole possession of third place in the West Central Conference. Unbeaten Melrose and Minnewaska are tied for first.
The Braves’ regular 1-singles player, Kelsey Rajewsky, teamed with 3-singles player Katie Samuelson and won at 1-doubles.
Benson’s 3-doubles team of Grace Ricard and Cassie Fugleberg wrapped up the Brave’s win, rebounding from set down to win in three in the last match on the court.
Benson’s Anne Dieter won at 3-singles and Sophia Curriel earned a point with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.

Montevideo’s Kailey Maroney and Kendra Wanke won their matches at 1-singles and 2-singles, and the Thunder Hawks’ team of Nikki Erickson and Morgan Reidinger came back from a set down to win at 2-doubles.
The Braves improved to 3-3 in the West Central Conference and they are 11-5 overall. They play at Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Thunder Hawks play MACCRAY on Thursday.
