Girls Tennis: Cards top Otters

FERGUS FALLS - The Willmar Cardinals swept the doubles points to top the Otters 6-1 in Central Lakes Conference tennis on Friday.
All the points in pairs were well earned: Amelia Amon/Claire Schmitz split sets then won a 10-8 tiebreaker, which coach Jim Anderson stated was their best match in six years of Cardinal tennis; Sydney Fischer/Amanda Zuidema won the first set 7-6 on a tiebreaker before taking control; at 3-doubles Olivia Corneil/Kaylee Chester won in an extra set. Hannah Kobienia, at 3-singles, also won in three sets.
Willmar (3-4, 7-8) plays at St. Cloud Tech (6-0, 6-1) on Tuesday. Fergus is now 1-5, 3-8.
