MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnewaska pair of Rachel Riley/Makenna Hanson bowed out in the consolation semifinals on Friday in the Class A doubles completion.
The Lakers duo lost 6-1, 6-1 to Taylor Gunderson/Brylee Seitz of Virginia, who went on to win the consolation bracket at Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center.
The double championship was won by Patrica Zhao/Sunny Tang of The Breck School; they defeated Grace Zumwinkle/Kendall Kozikowski, also of Breck, 7-5, 6-2 in the final. Sonya Das of St. Paul Academy topped Danielle Gannon of Holy Family Cathlolic 6-0, 6-1 for the singles championship.
Breck rocked Rochester Lourdes 6-1 for the team title on Wednesday while Edina outhit Minnetonka 5-2 in Class AA.
