Girls tennis: Lakers send 3 to state

SARTELL - Not only will Minnewaska compete at the Class A State Tournament as a team, but the Lakers will also have three players participating in the individual tournament next week at the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
Senior Jada Hoffman in singles and the doubles tandem of junior Makenna Hanson and sophomore Joelle Thorfinnson claimed titles Tuesday at the Section 6A tournament at Fitness Evolution. Hanson/Thorfinnson were the top seed and Hoffman was No. 2.
Both qualifiers won in straight sets in their semifinals and finals matches with Hoffman dominating Ashley Kraemer of Osakis 6-1 6-0 in the final.
Benson’s Melanie Reese/Kelsey Rajewsky finished fourth in doubles after going 2-2 at the tournament.
