Girls tennis: NLS Wildcats go 1-1 in triangular at Becker

New London-Spicer falls to the host Bulldogs, beats Sauk Rapids

BECKER — The New London Spicer Wildcats were dealt a 1-1 split on Thursday in girls tennis. After falling short to Becker 4-3, the NLS rebounded against Sauk Rapids-Rice with a 7-0 victory.

In match one against Becker, the Bulldogs took the first three singles matches, NLS’ Avery Dierenfeld gave the Wildcats’ their lone victory in singles 6-2, 6-3.

Kamryn Quenemoen and Delany Hanson gave NLS a victory in first doubles with a 6-1, 6-4 victory. Becker would answer by taking a close win in second doubles before Eva Schueler and Emily Ruter earned the Wildcats’ their final win in third doubles.

In its second match against Sauk Rapids-Rice, the Wildcats bounced back.

NLS’ Brooke Adelman had the closest matchup in singles against Isabelle Haddy with a 6-1, 4-6, 10-5 victory.


The Wildcats earned seven 6-0 victories and five 6-1 victories against the Storm.

NLS will compete next in the Crookston Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday.
