PIERZ — The New London-Spicer girls tennis team opened the 2021 season with three victories Friday afternoon.
The Wildcats beat Sauk Centre 7-0, Pierz 6-1 and Staples-Motley 4-3.
In the Staples-Motley match, NLS swept the doubles and got a factory at No. 4 singles from Avery Dierenfeld. The junior beat Elizabeth DiGiovanni 6-3, 6-3, 11-9.
“(We) played three matches today with very hot and windy conditions,” said NLS head coach Chad Schmiesing. “(The) girls battled through it today.”
