Girls tennis roundup: Tigers maul Cardinals

ST. CLOUD -- The Class AA No. 10-ranked St. Cloud Tech Tigers showed Willmar why, beating the Cardinals in straight sets in all seven matches in a 7-0 victory Tuesday.

ST. CLOUD - The Class AA No. 10-ranked St. Cloud Tech Tigers showed Willmar why, beating the Cardinals in straight sets in all seven matches in a 7-0 victory Tuesday.
“The girls knew it was going to be an uphill battle,” Willmar head coach Jim Anderson said. “The gameplan was to come swinging, hit the ball hard and let the chips fall as they may. I was proud of how well all the girls battled and playing with positive attitudes.”
Willmar next plays Thursday at home against Brainerd.

Benson’s Katie Samuelson and Anne Dieter won two of the Braves’ points at 3- and 4-singles.
The Braves are 9-4 overall and play host to Minnewaska at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
