GRANITE FALLS - Three wins in singles propelled Yellow Medicine East to a 4-3 non-conference win over visiting Redwood Valley on Monday.
It was the first win of the season for YME.
Anne Clarke at No. 2 and Hannah Lecy at No. 4 both won in straight sets for YME. Danielle Clarke, the Sting’s No. 1-singles player, won her first set 6-3 and was leading 1-0 in the second set when her opponent retired.
YME’s lone doubles win was at No. 3 as Chelsey Niemeyer and Erin Bissett also won in straight sets.
The Sting host Melrose today at 4:30 p.m. in a West Central Conference dual.

Three of the four singles wins and two of three doubles wins came in straight set for Minnewaska on Monday at the Lakers’ home courts.
Raelynn Wildman at 4-singles and Annika Pederson/Anna Vold at 1-doubles won in three sets to keep the shutout intact and help the Lakers improve to 10-2 overall.
Minnewaska hosts Montevideo and NLS is at Litchfield today.
