Megan Groen, a Danube native, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for Western State College in Gunnison, Colo., next season.
Groen, who was the Tribune's Hengstler-Ranweiler female award winner in 2008, was a junior college All-American and first all-Mon-Dak Conference player for North Dakota State College of Science last season. She averaged 20 points-per-game and shot 46 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range.
