FOOTBALL: Hegna earned All-Area honors twice as a defensive end. He led the area in sacks as a junior with 14 and had eight as a senior. The three-time letterwinner and two-year starter had 117 career tackles. On offense, the slotback rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 184 yards and six touchdowns.

WRESTLING: Hegna compiled a 29-11 record his senior year at 171 pounds and earned all-West Central South Conference honors. He went 54-39 in his career while lettering four times, He placed fourth in the section as a senior and was sixth as a junior. He also helped the team finish as section runner-up in 2009.

BASEBALL: A three-time letterwinner and two-year starter as an outfielder and pitcher, Hegna batted .250 this spring for the Sting. He had 20 career hits. On the hill, the left-handed Hegna has averaged nearly a strikeout per inning while posting a 2-2 record and a 4.50 ERA.
