WILLMAR — In a game that was hastily arranged, the state-ranked Little Falls boys hockey team skated to a 6-0 victory over the Willmar Cardinals on Thursday.
Willmar was originally scheduled to play Sauk Rapids, but was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols concerning the Storm.
Willmar’s game with Little Falls, which was set to play Sartell, was set on Thursday at the Willmar Civic Center.
The Flyers, who are ranked fourth in Class A, got a pure hat trick from sophomore forward Matt Filippi, who scored three straight goals in the second period.
Little Falls also got goals from Coltin Johnson and Robby Kuchinski-Helgeson to improve to 4-0. Dane Couture made 11 saves to secure the shutout.

For Willmar, junior Gavin Steinwand stopped 52 of 58 shots.
Willmar’s next scheduled game is against Henry Sibley at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the West St. Paul Arena.
