MADISON — In its final game of the regular season, Lac qui Parle Valley overcame a three-score deficit to emerge with a 26-25 victory at Canby on Nov. 12.

Meeting eight days later in the Section 5A third-place game, the fifth-seeded Eagles captured a decisive 27-12 win against the sixth-seeded Lancers on Friday from Lac qui Parle Valley High School.

The hosts scored the game’s final 27 points after trailing 12-0 at the end of the first quarter.

LQPV quarterback Colton Mortenson connected on 12 of 18 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Landon Schrim was the team’s leading receiver with four grabs for 189 yards and a touchdown.

Evan Hegland and Carter Amland each had scoring receptions for the Eagles. Dain Mortenson added a rushing touchdown.

The Eagles finished with a 5-3 record after winning four of their last five games.
