High School Hockey: Hansen, Mielke push Litchfield/D-C Dragons past Bulldogs

LITCHFIELD — The Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato girls hockey team used a pair of third-period goals to capture its first win of the season.

The Dragons beat Minnesota River 3-2 Saturday from the Litchfield Civic Arena.

Tied 1-1 with 8 minutes, 3 seconds remaining in regulation, Dragons senior forward Ella Hansen notched the go-ahead after receiving an assist from senior forward Lauren Brock.

Litchfield/D-C senior forward Kourtney Mielke made it a 3-1 contest when she delivered an unassisted goal 12:18 into the third. Mielke collected a helper in the second period on a score from sophomore defender Lauren Erickson.

The visitors cut the deficit to 3-2 when Adrianna Bixby scored on the power play with 47 seconds left.

Dragons senior goaltender Avery Stilwell stopped 25 shots in the win.

Amelia Messer had 27 saves for the Bulldogs.

Litchfield/D-C plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Waconia.
