BREEZY POINT — Despite getting outshot 32-20, River Lakes was able to pick up a 2-0 boys hockey victory over Northern Lakes in its season debut Friday night.
The Stars’ first goal came at the 14-minute mark from Bennet Bjerke on the power-play. Abe Bullard assisted on the play. Then after a scoreless second, River Lakes tacked on another as Tanner Stanley scored off passes from Bjerke and Mason King.
In net, goaltender Josh Venable stopped 32 shots in the win.
The Stars have a quick turnaround, playing at Fergus Falls on Saturday.
