High Schools: Willmar’s Ludwig earns CLC performer of the week honors

The senior linebacker was named the top defensive football player of the week after helping the Cardinals beat No. 1-ranked Hutchinson

Willmar senior linebacker Tyler Ludwig has been named the Central Lakes Conference defensive football player of the week.

Ludwig had five tackles, including three solo tackles, and two fumble recoveries in Willmar’s 28-24 victory No. 1-ranked Hutchinson on Friday.

Other CLC performers of the week are:

From Sartell, senior running back Ethan Torgrimson has been named the offensive football player of the week after rushing 22 times for 277 yards and five touchdowns.

From St. Cloud Tech, Kierstyn Nelson was named the girls swimmer of the week. Nelson took first in the 100-yard butterfly (59.8 seconds) and was second in the 50 freestyle (24.89) at the section championships.

From Sauk Rapids, Darci Peterson was the volleyball offensive performer of the week. In four sets, she had eight kills and went 20-for-21 serving with four aces.

From Fergus Falls, Logan Strom was the volleyball defensive performer of the week. In two matches, Strom had 25 digs.
