Junior Hockey: Willmar WarHawks open with a 'W'

Willmar begins the 2020-21 NA3HL season with a 4-1 victory Friday night at New Ulm

NEW ULM — The Willmar WarHawks opened the 2020 NA3HL season with a 4-1 victory over the New Ulm Steel on Friday night.

Four players scored goals for Willmar: Tyler Corbid, Jack Willis, Ethan Light and Ethan Mock.

Corbid is a forward from Fargo, North Dakota. Willis is a forward from Chaska. Light is a forward from Manhattan Beach, California. Mock is a defenseman from Bemidji.

Luke Weberg stopped 22 of 23 shots for the win in goal. He’s from Omaha, Nebraska, and in his second season with the WarHawks.

Willmar plays at 7:30 p.m. Saturday against the Granite City Lumberjacks at Sports Arena East in Sauk Rapids.
