KERKHOVEN -- Someone had to get its first win in Camden Conference play and it was Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg that achieved the feat as the Fighting Saints swept Dawson-Boyd 25-15, 25-18, 25-17 Thursday.
The win, which was sparked by Katelyn Lottman's 11 kills, also snapped a five-match losing streak for the Fighting Saints (1-5, 5-7).
Sam Dunn followed with seven kills and Tracy Braaten added another five as seven players got at least two kills for KMS. Ellen Johnson and Ashley Carlson directed the offense by collecting a combined 23 set assists.
Kendra Lindblad had 10 kills and Nicole Jurgenson seven for the Blackjacks (0-6, 5-8). Kelsie Schuelke had 21 digs. Mckenzie Franzky added 19 assists and Mari Lee two ace blocks.
