KMS wins 5th straight title at Willmar Classic

WILLMAR -- Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg emerged as the winner of the Willmar Wrestling Classic champions for the fifth straight year, getting a challenge from the host team this time.

WILLMAR -- Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg emerged as the winner of the Willmar Wrestling Classic champions for the fifth straight year, getting a challenge from the host team this time.

KMS had five individual champions en route to piling up 214.5 points. Willmar finished second with 201 points. Benson placed third with 124.

Winning individual titles for the Fighting Saints were Jordan Engler at 103 pounds, Klinton VanHeuveln at 135, Jordan Rothers at 140, Aaron Doraska at 145 and Casey Krieger at 171.

Willmar had four individual champions: Zach Lueders at 125 pounds, Alex Johannes at 130, Coty Milhausen at 152 and Nathanial Swoyer at 189.

Yellow Medicine East's Evan Knudson won the 112-pound title, while Minnewaska's Jacob Braaten repeated as the 119-pound champion.

Also winning a second straight title was Knudson (103 last year), Johannes (125), Doraska (140) andMilhausen (145).
