KRA revs up after weather delays

WILLMAR-The motors were revving once again at the KRA Speedway on Thursday.

Weather delays and postponements from the July 7 schedule were made up Thursday in the Hobby Stock, Mod Four and Modified classes.

Hornets, Midwest Modifieds and Super Stock races from July 7 will be made up on July 28.

On Thursday, Nick Simar of Willmar bested Sam Lungstrom of Blomkest to take the flag in the Hobby Stock feature. Kerkhoven's Jed Muller was third.

Heat 2 winner Dustin Virkus of Clarkfield repeated in the Hornets feature, followed by Justin Schelitzche of Winstead and Joe Martin of Willmar.

Justin Froemming of Garfield rose from a third-place finish in heat 2 to take the Midwest Modified feature. Tim Kanten of Milan was second and Jason Hoffman of Villard placed third.

Foley's Keith Thell won the Mod Four feature after a third-place heat finish. Pennock's Dean Larson was second and Matt Halls of Big Lake was third.

The third-to-first trend continued in the Modified class, with Grove City's Zach Schultz taking the feature after a third-place finish in heat 2. Brainerd's Tim Johnson was second and Glenwood's Tom Silver was third.

Brainerd's Tim Johnson won the Street Stock heat and feature, followed by Clara City's Justin Tammen, who placed eighth in the heat race. Willmar's Taylor Willms was third.

Johnson also won the Super Stock feature after placing first in heat 2. Avon's Eric Martini placed second and Jeff Crouse, of Alexandria, placed third in the feature after winning heat 1.
