ROCHESTER -- Rochester blanketed Ridgewater's post players and pressed the Lady Warriors into a 77-57 loss in MCAC women's basketball action Wednesday.
Only two of Ridgewater's four post players scored more than two points. Kari Caspers led the Lady Warriors with 17 points and seven rebounds, and Alison Mason added eight points. Kelsey Guetter and Brianna Jacobson were held to two points each.
"(Rochester) does a good job of cramming down inside, which is what we do," said Ridgewater coach Carrie Ogdahl.
The Lady Warriors survived Rochester's full-court pressure in the first half and went into the break trailing 33-30, but the start of the second half saw the Yellowjackets clamp down harder with the press and force more Ridgewater mistakes.
"We handled it better in the first half, then they came out with more intensity and we didn't match it," Ogdahl said.

Alii Holt added 13 points for Ridgewater, which committed 32 turnovers. The Lady Warriors host Minnesota West Saturday at 1 p.m., then ends the season next Wednesday hosting Riverland.
Maria Gangelhoff sank 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out six assists to lead Rochester.
