WILLMAR - Candy Ranweiler Underwood, of West Linn, Oregon, Jim Ranweiler of Woodbury, both children of Henry "Lefty" Ranweiler; Maureen Denzer Tucker of Plymouth, daughter of Marlin "Ironman" Denzer; and Steve Schneider of Jordan, a 1962 Willmar graduate, were on hand Thursday prior to the induction ceremony into the West Central Baseball Hall of Fame at the Willmar Conference Center.

Lefty, a New Ulm native, was a beloved official, sports editor and college coach who played on Willmar's 1952 Class AA State Championship team.

Denzer, a native of LeSueur, pitched in 44 innings and all seven games in Willmar's march to the 1934 state title. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp in World War II before settling in St. Louis Park and raise four daughters.

Schneider grew up playing pick-up games at Rice, Northside and Garfield parks before becoming an ace pitcher for the Willmar Cardinals and the Kernals town-team. He went on to play shortstop on the Minnesota Gophers' 1964 College World Championship team.

The Hall of Fame is co-sponsored by the Kandiyohi County Historical Society and the Willmar Stingers.
