Legion Baseball: BOLD, Morris win in District 7

MONTEVIDEO - Trent Athmann pitched a four-hit shutout to lead BOLD past Glenwood 2-0 in the Division II District 7 playoffs.
Athmann struck out five and walked one.
Glenwood’s Austin VerSteeg was almost as good, with nine strikeouts and one walk, but the Mudhens scratched runs across in the second and sixth on an RBI single from Hunter Evenson and an RBI groundout from Brecken Ebnet.
Riley Kramer doubled and scored a run, and Evenson and Logan Nissen each had two hits.
BOLD will face Morris 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Montevideo, and Glenwood will face Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 5:15 p.m. Thursday in Montevideo.

Noah Grove had two hits and pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and one unearned runs.
He struck out seven and walked three.
Morris’ Nic Solvie drove in the go-ahead run with a single to score Brady Jergenson in the fourth inning.
Sean Amundson scored Morris’ first run of the game in the first after a leadoff walk, two singles and an error.
