BIRD ISLAND -- A four-run sixth inning pushed Granite Falls past BOLD 4-1 Friday in the opening round of the BOLD tournament.
Dylan Hoffman drew a one-out walk and Travis Enger followed with a double to give Granite Falls life after trailing 1-0 through five innings.
Dylan Lindstrom followed with a two-run single and another single from Derek Dyrdahl kept the inning alive. Lindstrom and Dyrdahl then scored insurance runs when Garrett Cole doubled.
Lindstrom worked all seven innings to get the win, surrendering five hits and one run while striking out four.
Kyle Athmann doubled twice and singled to account for three of BOLD's five hits. His double in the third knocked in Nick Steffel, who reached with a double of his own, with the Mudhens' lone run.
