GLENWOOD - Riley Thompson three-hit Kerkhoven for six innings and Michael Gruber tripled, doubled and drove in two runs in Glenwood’s win Tuesday in the Division II, District 7 North playoffs at Minnewaska High School.
Glenwood, the No. 3 seed, plays at No. 2 Morris at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Kerkhoven, the No. 6 seed, plays host to No. 10 Hancock in a losers’ bracket game at 6 p.m. Thursday in Kerkhoven. Morris defeated Hancock 6-2 on Tuesday.
Thompson allowed just one walk and struck out three, and Gruber got three straight groundouts in the seventh to end the game.
Glenwood’s Justin Amundson was 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI, and Spencer Winter singled in a fourth-inning run. Jon Nygaard was 1-for-3 and scored a run.

Trent Athmann worked a complete game and he drove in two runs to lead BOLD to a Division II, District 7 South playoff game on Tuesday in Bird Island.

Athmann allowed just one earned run on five hits and he struck out nine.
BOLD’s Ben Steffel was 2-for-4 with a double and and two RBIs, and Max Buchtel was 2-for-2. Austin Weis also doubled and drove in a run.
Tri-Town’s Brody Larson had two hits and Adam Johnson singled in both his team’s runs in the second inning.
BOLD, now 9-8 and the No. 3 seed in the South, takes on the South’s top seed, Cottonwood, on Thursday in Cottonwood.

A five-run fourth inning and two late home runs from Seth Boerboom and Seth Plotz allowed No. 2-seed Cottonwood to drop No. 7 Montevideo into the elimination bracket of the Division II, District 7 South playoffs on Tuesday.
Bayley Enstad surrendered eight hits - all singles - to Montevideo and struck out four without issuing a walk in a complete-game win for Cottonwood.
Markus Kranz and Adam Kilibarda both had two hits for Montevideo, which stranded 11 runners.
Montevideo plays No. 6 Tri-Town in Atwater on Thursday.

The No. 1 seed needed a walk-off hit to edge the visiting Scarlets of Sacred Heart/MACCRAY in the second round of the Division II, District 7 South playoffs on Tuesday.
No. 9 SH/MACCRAY is at No. 5 Minneota at 7 p.m. in an elimination game and Madison hosts No. 4 Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in a winner’s bracket semifinal on Thursday.
The Scarlets, which owned leads of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-1, came up empty in the top half of the eighth despite loading the bases. Austin Haas ended the game when he hit a two-out, two-strike pitch down the third-base line.
Madison could have ended the game in the seventh, but Collin Thompson threw out a runner at home from center field for the Scarlets.
Willmar 6, Dassel-Cokato 3
Zach Horman and Austin Smith both drove in two runs and Willmar Legion Post 167 exacted revenge for a weekend loss, defeating Dassel-Cokato 6-3 on Tuesday at Bill Taunton Stadium.

DC defeated Willmar 2-0 in the Albany Wood Bat Tournament in Avon on Saturday.
On Tuesday, Tyler Stegeman opened the bottom of the first with a walk, stole second and third, and scored when Smith, who singled, was caught on an attempted steal.
In the third, Stegeman again walked, stole second and third and came around to score.
Trae Murphy was 2-for-2 and scored twice and Adam Nibaur was 2-for-3 and also scored a run. Stegeman walked three times, reached on an error and stole five bases.
Cole Christensen got the win, pitching the first five innings and allowing three runs on three hits while striking out seven.
Willmar hosts Sartell at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
