MONTEVIDEO - Markus Kranz hit a three-run homer and Montevideo rode two four-run innings to beat New London-Spicer 10-4 to win the Montevideo Tournament on Sunday.
Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Montevideo tied it up on a double steal and after a Ricky Schmitz RBI base hit, Austin Hiepler laced a two-run triple with two outs to go up 6-4.
Monte plated four more in the sixth, capped by Kranz’s three-run bomb.
Jeff Rohloff earned the win in relief, going 3.1 innings with three strikeouts.
Montevideo (6-5) next plays tonight at Granite Falls.
