WILLMAR - Willmar’s Brandon Christenson pitched a complete-game shutout and struck out nine to stifle the Hector bats and lift Willmar to a 4-0 win Monday at Bill Taunton Stadium.
Austin Rambow doubled and drove in two runs and Cole Hagen belted an RBI-triple that nearly went over the right-field fence.
Christenson set the tone early, pitching around an error and a Ben Meiers single to strike out the side in the first inning. The single was one of only two hits he allowed.
Willmar took a 1-0 lead when Tim Rogers drew a one-out walk, and after a steal, scored on Rambow’s bloop single.
Hagen made it 2-0 in the third with his triple to score Tyler Stegeman, who had singled and stole second.
