MINNEAPOLIS -- Litchfield freshman Marissa Warren had a top five finish Saturday in the finals of the Class A State Swimming and Diving Meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Warren placed fifth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.28, just under two seconds behind the winning time of 56.38 turned in by Detroit Lakes senior Melissa Paakh.
Warren also competed in the final of the 100 backstroke and the two-time state meet participate came in eighth with a time of 1:02.97. Monticello junior Caley Oquist broke the Class A meet record in the backstroke by finishing in 55.35.
The Litchfield quartet of Warren, senior Kaitlyn Borg, sophomore Greta Walsh and eighth-grader Anika Ellingson placed sixth in the consolation final of the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:56.04.
There were eight Class A meet record broken during Saturday's finals.
