WILLMAR-Performing without its top all-around performer once again, the Willmar gymnastics team stepped up on Tuesday night against Redwood Valley.

The No. 2 Cardinals dominated in the floor and vault competitions en route to a 146.775 - 131.750 win at Willmar High School.

Abigail Coquyt won the all-around competition with a score of 36.375.

Kirah Kessler-Gross posted a score of 9.575 to take first in the floor and was followed closely by Willmar's Olivia Welsh at 9.474, Coquyt at 9.45 and Lydia Morrell at 9.325.

Jolissa Lara took first on the vault with a score of 9.525. Kessler-Gross was second at 9.45 and Coquyt was just behind her at 9.325.

Willmar continues to compete without junior Erica Schramm, who suffered a vertebra injury in practice two weeks ago.

The Willmar boys and girls Nordic ski teams teamed up in co-ed relays at the Alexandria Invitational on Tuesday at Andes Tower.

The team of Andrew Haugen, Laura Christianson, Parker Cook and Daniel Halvorson was Willmar's top finisher in 39:51.0.

The Cardinals' Marquis Christensen, Joely Palmer, Ethan Haines and Marina Moyers finished in 47:11.0 and the team of Sydney Lanning, Daphne Barrera, Connor Olson and Erik Heen finished in 57:12.0.
