DETROIT LAKES-The Willmar gymnastics team placed fourth and three Cardinals had top-10 finishes at the Class A State True Team meet on Saturday.
Detroit Lakes placed first, followed by Sartell, Pine Island-Zumbrota, Willmar and Monticello.
Kirah Kessler-Gross placed seventh on the floor with 9.474, Tayva Carruthers placed eighth on the beam with a 9.15, and Lydia Morrell placed eighth with 9.225.
In True Team, all five scores in each event are counted in team scores.
"Was a bit of a rough day for the Cardinals," said Willmar head coach Jodi Mottinger.

Heidi Sellmann and Morgan Swenson had monster games in Ridgewater's win over Western Wisconsin Tech on Saturday at Ridgewater College.
Sellmann finished with 29 points and 18 rebounds and Swenson had 18 points and 19 boards. Mariah Adams had 19 points and Abby Oberg finished with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Head coach Jodi Holleman will be going for her 300th prep and college victory against Anoka-Ramsey at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgewater.

Willmar's Sam Voss scored just seconds before the end of the first period and the momentum carried over to the rest of the game as the WarHawks blitzed Breezy Point on Saturday at the Willmar Civic Center.
Shea Braden scored two goals and Voss, Riley Dixon, Jacob Berkowitz and Peyton Bolstad also scored goals. Dixon had a five-point game, adding four assists. Wyatt Toll and Bolstad both had three assists, and Voss and Jonathan Koester also had helpers.
