WILLMAR - The Willmar swimming and diving team won three swim events and swept diving but fell to Sauk Rapids on Thursday at the Willmar High School pool.
Willmar's Anna Backes won the 100 and 200 freestyle races and the Cardinals team of Rachel lanning, Jennette Harasyn, Josie Miller and Ana Hernandez placed first in the 200 freestyle relay.
Erica Schramm won diving, followed by teammates Olivia Welsh (second) and Maddie Stoeberl (third).

Girls Tennis
COLLEGEVILLE - One singles player and two doubles teams advanced out of the Section 5A girls tennis individual tournament for Litchfield on Thursday at St. John's University.
Natalie Nelson earned a pair of 6-1, 6-2 wins to move on in the singles bracket. She topped Erin Loterbauer of New London-Spicer and Annah Zheng of St. John's Prep.
Advancing in doubles were the teams of Avery Stilwell and Vaida Behnke and Shanna Kinny and Laney Huhner.
Stilwell and Behnke won their matches 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-3.
Kinny and Huhner didn't drop a set in their opener, then won 6-4, 6-1 in their second match.
All five Dragon players will compete in the state semifinals next Tuesday at Fitness Evolution in Sartell. Play begins at 8 a.m.
The New London-Spicer girls tennis team saw its season officially come to end at the same tournament.
Loterbauer, the No. 1 singles player for the Wildcats all year, came out by beating BBE's Morgan Meyer in two sets before falling to Nelson
The top doubles pair for the Wildcats also finished the day 1-1. Shea Oman and Kylie Thompson defeated a Sauk Centre duo in two sets but ran into a buzzsaw in Kayla McIver and Kylee Funk from Foley. McIver and Funk also ended the season of NLS' Michelle Johnson and Emma Spors.
