North Dakota State senior Rose Jackson had the meet of a lifetime, turning in career-best performances in three out of five events in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 10 in College Station, Texas, finishing eighth to earn the first All-America honor of her career.
In a span of five hours, Jackson posted the best marks of her life in the 60m hurdles, shot put and long jump, and she had the second-best performances of her career in the high jump and 800 meters. It was enough to total 4,142 points - a new school record.
Jackson has now surpassed Bison All-American Whitney Carlson's previous pentathlon school record from 2011 by 127 points.

Schueler swims at state
Aubrey Schueler, 10, of Willmar, qualified and swam two events in the Minnesota Age Group Short Course State Meet on March 19 in Rochester. The meet was sanctioned by USA Swimming, which also oversees the USA Olympic Swim Team.
Schueler is the daughter of Mitch and Emily Schueler of Willmar.
At the state meet, Schueler placed 62nd in the 50 backstroke in 37.64 seconds. She was 60th in 37.43 in the 50 butterfly.

At the regional meet on March 3-5 in Hutchinson, swan a 37.05 in the 50 backstroke and earned fifth place, and she swam 36.03 in the 50 butterfly for fourth place.
