GLENWOOD - The Minnewaska boys basketball team got perhaps its biggest win of the season so far, holding BOLD 30 points under its season average in a 57-48 West Central Conference victory on Monday at Minnewaska High School.
BOLD, which was scoring 77.9 points per game before Monday night, dropped out of a first-place tie with Melrose in the WCC and now is 5-1 in the league and 12-3 overall. Minnewaska improved to 4-2 in the WCC and 9-4 overall.
The Lakers' win snapped BOLD's seven-game winning streak.
Minnewaska's Garrett Jensen scored a game-high 19 points and Jackson Johnsrud scored 14 points. Matt Gruber added 10 points.
BOLD's Jordan Sagedahl scored a team-high 13 points and Devin Gluesing had 11.

Minnewaska plays host to Breckenridge at 7:30 p.m. today while BOLD is off until a matchup at Melrose at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Another strong night from Makenna Steffel helped lead BOLD to a win over Renville County West.
Steffel led all scorers with 22 points and also grabbed 11 rebounds to go along with five steals. The Warriors had plenty of other scoring options as Taylor Sagedahl had 12 points, Makayla Snow had 11 and Morgan Schmitz finished with 10.
Aleah Zieske scored 17 points to lead the Jaguars.
