FERGUS FALLS-The Menahga girls basketball team defeated BBE 46-39 in the Section 5A championship game on Friday.

It's the second-straight year Menahga ended the Jaguars' season in the section championship game, and it's the third-straight year BBE has had its season halted in the title game.

BBE finished the season 24-6 while Menahga moves onto the Class A state tournament next week in Minneapolis.

No other details about the game were provided.

A three-goal second-period and Ville Hyttinen's strong goaltending helped Alexandria defeat the Willmar on Friday night in the WarHawks' second-to-last game of the 2018-19 season at the Willmar Civic Center.

Carter Rieland, Dylan Giorgio, Caleb Strong and Connor Busse scored Alexandria's goals, and Giorgio and Busse also had assists.

Willmar's Marquez Ginger broke the shutout with a goal at 6:32 of the third on assists from Dylan Svoboda and Chase VanDeVere.

The WarHawks wrap the regular season against the Blizzard at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Willmar.
