LQPV clinches Camden North with win over MACCRAY

CLARA CITY -- Lac qui Parle Valey opened on a 20-2 run and withstood MACCRAY'S rally attempt, clinching the Camden Conference North title with a 47-38 win on Tuesday.

CLARA CITY - Lac qui Parle Valey opened on a 20-2 run and withstood MACCRAY’S rally attempt, clinching the Camden Conference North title with a 47-38 win on Tuesday.

The Eagles, who improved to 9-0 against their North division foes, got to the basket at will early to open up an 18-point lead.

Kelsea Lund led LQPV with 16 points, and Lindsay Kranz was right behind with 14.

The Wolverines, who lost 56-46 in their first matchup with the Eagles, got within 29-20 at the half, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Carly Orwick had 11 points and Sydney Schwitters nine to lead MACCRAY, which has lost nine of its last 12 games.

LQPV goes for a sixth-straight win against KMS Thursday. MACCRAY hosts Dawson-Boyd Friday.
