RAYMOND -- MACCRAY's timely hitting allowed the Wolverines to stay unbeaten in the Camden Conference as they edged Dawson-Boyd 6-5 Thursday.
Dawson-Boyd was scheduled to host the game in Dawson, but the school didn't want to risk damaging its field that was just re-seeded with the recent rain. So the game was moved to Raymond, but the Blackjacks were still the home team.
MACCRAY (11-0, 13-2) grabbed an early 2-0 lead when Jarrod Holmgren's sacrifice fly brought in Caleb Hanson and Dylan Aeikens scored on a wild pitch in the second inning.
The Blackjacks (2-9, 2-9) pulled ahead in the fourth after Mike Bothun singled in Jake Bothun in the third and Jarrett Wager scored on an error and Joe Haugen drove in Dusty Lundy with a single in the fourth. MACCRAY escaped further harm in the third when shortstop Shaun Condon turned a 4-3 double play with the bases loaded to end the inning.
Aeikens singled in Tyler Wrede, Hanson scored on a wild pitch, Darren Eschen's squeeze bunt with the bases loaded knocked in Aeikens and Seth Hinrichs scored on Brandon Madsen's single in the fourth as MACCRAY plated four runs to regain the lead.

That allowed Hinrichs to pick up the win in relief, even though he gave up two runs in the fifth. Esten Weber came home on Kollin Dahl's single and Cody Huesby tagged up from third after MACCRAY left fielder Darren Westerman made a diving catch to rob Lundy of a hit.
