MANKATO - The Mankato MoonDogs scored early and often Monday en route to crushing the Willmar Stingers 10-2 in the Northwoods League.
Mankato (4-3) pounded out 13 hits, which included three home runs, against four Willmar (4-3) pitchers and scored in every inning except the third and eighth. Brinn Bell, the No. 9 hitter, went 3-for-3 to drive in three runs and score three times to highlight the Mankato attack.
A double from Frankie Rios in the seventh got the Stingers on the board as Brian Pruett scored after drawing a walk to lead off the inning. Shortly later Rios scored on Sean Beesley’s sacrifice fly.
Rios and Beesley had two hits apiece.
Willmar hosts the MoonDogs today at 7:05 p.m.
