MINNEAPOLIS -- A 35-point lead was more than enough for Minneapolis as the Mavericks upended Ridgewater 80-60 Wednesday in a men's MCAC Southern Division junior college basketball game.
The Mavericks shot 56 percent (20-for-36) from the field in the first half to build a comfortable 53-18 lead at halftime. Ridgewater, meanwhile, made only 7 of 27 shots (26 percent) in the first half.
Minneapolis (3-0, 13-4) made six 3-pointers in each half while Ridgewater (1-2, 8-8) made just three for the game.
Casey Sussenguth had 20 points and Mike Weber followed with 14 to pace Ridgewater, which got only six points from its bench compared to 32 for the Mavericks. Weber also hooked 11 rebounds.
Peter Olafeso had 23 points and 12 rebounds and Michael Welsh drained five 3-pointers en route to pumping in 19 points for Minneapolis.
