MINNEAPOLIS -- Ridgewater led for the majority of the first half, but Northland started to connect on its three-point shots and went on to eliminate the Warriors from the MCAC State Tournament by posting a 73-51 win Friday in the quarterfinals.
Ridgewater (14-13) shot a respectable 40.6 percent from the field in the first half, but Northland's late surge in the opening half gave the Northern Division's top seed a 33-28 lead at halftime.
The Pioneers drained 7-of-13 three-point shots and shot 42.6 percent from the field, while Ridgewater shot just 32.8 percent.
Casey Sussenguth had 14 points and 14 rebounds, Shawn Neu netted 10 points and Nathan Nietfeld grabbed 10 boards to pace Ridgewater, which committed 25 turnovers.
Terrell Lipkins and Ricardo Wells each had 17 points for Northland.
