BRAINERD -- Ridgewater was unable to dial up from long distance on Saturday, hitting only 2-of-18 three-point shots, and succumbed to Vermilion 85-63 in junior college men's basketball at the Central Lakes Invite.
"(Vermilion) is extremely quick and its pressure hurt us," said Ridgewater coach Bob Knutson. "And, we just couldn't hit a shot."
The Warriors (1-1) shot only 33 percent from the field and were outrebounded 68-45.
Nathan Nietfeld had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Ridgewater. Elijah Swen added 11 points and three steals. Adam Sadlemyer had nine points and Chris Wichterman seven.
Ridgewater plays the St. John's JV Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Collegeville.
